Why I Write

I’ve loved writing as long as I can remember. It’s not that I’ve got a love for grammar and punctuation and complete sentences. I love being able to complete my thoughts clearly in a concise manner while I communicate them to the world. They say that the pen is mightier than the sword, and I completely believe that. I’m no good at talking so this is how I prefer to get my ideas and thoughts and opinions out into the world- through my written word.

I used to “blog” all the time, especially when bad things happened. When I needed to vent and didn’t want anybody to hear me cry or try to interrupt me or tell me I’m wrong or try to fix the words that I was saying. I just needed word vomit. I don’t think that I’m always write- but the only way to figure out how wrong I might be is to get my ideas out of my head.

It’s not that I don’t have anybody to talk to- or that I want a particular audience for my monthly, weekly, or daily rants or rave. It’s just that I find it greatly difficult to find the right words to say while I’m talking. Writing comes so much more natural to me. Nobody to put words in my mouth, stop the words from coming, or watch my cry.

So, I guess that’s the justification for my blog. I just need somewhere to get my ideas out. I don’t know where this will end up going but I hope that it serves its purpose well.
